Anyone know if there's a third-party that can help track down, gather the relevant data to proceed and attempt to collect detention? As to my knowledge, I don't think one exist but it seems like it could be a useful service for a small carrier.

Important to read the rate con carefully and call out detention procedures at the beginning before signing. Research the brokerage credit score and carrier feedback. Avoid bottleneck facilities, I.e. rail yards, ports, and Megas. When they burn you, and they will, refuse to do business with them again. Then, post carrier reviews everywhere you can. Even on this site. Eventually, you will find one or two to work with exclusively. They need carriers more than carriers need them because we do the actual work.

It's called a court. If someone broke the contract, (rate con) that's the avenue to take. If it wasn't in the contract, then nothing is owed.
