    Hello Everyone,

Let me introduce myself ... I'm normally called Dan or "The Viking" by my friends. Currently a 26 year old EMT working in MA.

I have my CDL-A Permit. My question is, due to current financial situation & lack of money being an EMT and all. I have tried to forgo the now traditional "school" route and obtain the License the "Ole' Fashioned" way.

Now my permit was obtained in NH. I have a step-uncle who owns a porche racing team in NC.

Does it matter where I take the test. If so would he beable to when in the area, use his truck and trailer, sponsering me for the state road test. Does it matter for residence/issueing state where you take the road test?

    Thanks,
    Dan "The Viking"

To the best of my knowledge, you have to take your CDL driving test in your state of resisdence. Also, some states (like WA) have requirements such as XX number of hours at an accredited school. A simple Google search of your home states requirements at the DMV should be able to answer your questions better than we can.

You could become a resident of NC by using your uncles address.
Then when you get to your due date you could switcth to NH..

far as I know, have to take test in your state of residence. The truck you use must pass dot inspection. (since you have to inspect as part of your test) but the truck/trailer can be tagged and registered anywhere, long as pass for your state.
I used family member address and took my test in other state, and now will have to change it to my home state. I'm just waiting till I can afford to add hazmat so only have to go out to dmv once :)
Call local dmv, or local school and ask details about your home state requirements. Just tell them you are thinking of moving and want to be sure you are legal and compliant.
