I spoke with a o/o with sunteck tts. He has a lease purchase for a 2004 Freightliner Columbia 14l Detroit 10 speed manual. Total price for truck is 26k also the position pays 72% of the gross.
    ( no fuel surcharge ).

Is 26k to much money for a 2004 Columbia?

Do you think it’s wise to work with a agent that wants to keep fuel surcharge? I ask about the surcharge because he is telling me that It’s not necessary to pay a fuel surcharge to the truck.

After a brief discussion he lowered the price to 17k.

He is also telling me that a 6 day work week will only make 1500 dollars.. kinda sketchy to me because if used correctly the fuel surcharge helps reduce fuel expenses.

I would advise you to stay away from any lease purchase.
The truck you're asking about is 16 years old. Does he have any history of work that has been done? Engine work, transmission work, rear ends? Again, in my opinion the truck is only worth about 7k.
I wish you the best of luck, but you shouldn't even consider this deal.
I seen in the truckpaper the other day a 2014 International prostar with a cummins (old Knight truck) with 450,000 miles for $23,000, throw a NTP warranty on it for $5-$6,000 you're still ahead.

So you have an owner operator that wants to lease purchase his truck to you? And you have the agent that he works for telling you that the truck will only make $1,500 working 6 days a week?

    Run for your life!

You are talking about an old truck that probably has a Brazilian miles on it and not even making $300 a day?

Then you're supposed to take care of the maintenance and repairs and the tags and everything else that goes along with that?

I'm glad that you came here to ask the question.

Those guys are vultures looking for their next victim.

    Run for your life!

I appreciate y’all for taking the time to respond. I only consider a lease purchase do to me not having credit available to utilize a dealership.

I am looking for a quality lease that can be paid in one year or two at the most.. if you know of any please let me know

This deal seemed skeptical.. just wasn’t sure

    Thanks

I'm really trying to help you here. I have read your other posts and you sound so desperate to be lease purchase driver, why??
You have said you have no money or credit. You know what sucks? Driving down the road with a payment and no money in the bank, stressful!!!
The leases that you are looking at are straight up failures, even worse than the mega options. Why the rush to fail??
I take delivery on a brand new truck on Friday, I told my wife if I had any brains I wouldn't do it a drive for a company.
There's a reason you're broke with no credit, learn from mistakes and learn how to do simple mathematics.

Find a decent company to drive for. Save, save and save more. Build your credit. It may take a few years but if you jump in now, especially with this old truck you will regret it. No fuel surcharge? That's a red flag right there as you know he is collecting it. Run away from this .

The trucking game has nothing to do with it. It's THE "BUSINESS GAME" ... If you don't know what you're doing you will get eaten alive regardless of the business you get into ... You do not know what you're doing. You don't even know why you want a truck ... All you know is you want a truck.

Starting/running a business requires patience, aptitude and capital ... And based on your posts none of which you appear to have.
