I've been waiting for a trainer for 2 weeks from Usxpress and was wondering if anyone knows how long I will be waiting. I just don't understand how they can hire so many people if they don't have the ability to get them trained. I have bills I have to pay and I am not getting paid for sitting around at my house. Any advice is welcome! Thanks

this happens with just about all the mega-carriers that hire newbies...some people have waited up to a month before they got a trainer...not necessarily at US Express, i'm just saying......so be prepared to sit by the phone...personally, i'd just for Schlitz and giggles, start applying at other companies....just to see what happens....

What have they told you when you asked?

Quit sitting by the phone and get more applications out. You could die before they ever called you back. You are one of one thousand approved applicants on their list. Time to move on.

    Imaqt123 Thanks this.

I have applications out with many other companies...Werner, Covenant, Stevens, CCC, KLLM, Swift, just to name the main ones. Swift and KLLM told me they are not taking anymore Florida students. Covenant never answers the phone. Werner keeps calling me so they must need people bad. CCC said I would work 6 days and be home 1 day and I think it's more of an eastcoast gig. I liked the idea of teaming with someone for Usxpress but I don't know how much longer I can wait. Do the other companies team you up with someone if you want? What should I do?

They say they have a lot of students waiting. They said some people are still waiting from December. I can't wait that long. That's ridiculous. But I also know that a guy that was in orientation with me already has a trainer, but he has previous driver experience so that might be why.

The longer you wait the higher you debt load goes. You need to go to work today not next month. Being from Florida they don't have a great need for drivers so you are at a geographical disadvantage. Jacksonville isn't Atlanta or Chicago which are great freight hubs.

It's time to go trucking or sit by the phone, what are you going to do.

I guess I should call Werner then. They said they could get me a trainer in 2 days. The training pay is only $350 per week though. But I guess it's better than nothing. Should I try CCC instead?

try them all and see who has a trainer at your door first.
