JB Hunt owner operator - is it worth it?

    Im new to having my own authority, my question is hualing for these big companys worth it? They say your out for 7-10 days no forced dispatch, all the down time you want, there paying 1.60 mile. It seems to good their trailets and all that but there has to be catch and b I dont know what it is...anyone got advice or experiance with this

    The too good to be true is the fact you would be using your authority and insurance for crap rates like this.

    It's a losing deal. If you don't have a trailer and need to do something for a couple weeks then maybe but there is really no point in paying for all the extras to have your own authority and then run for a $1.60 a mile. Go lease to someone and you can probably do nearly as well with fuel surcharge and not have half the headaches.

    Best I could say is.Do you really think you will be happy 6 month from now? If not why do it if you need quick cash find somewhere and work as a company driver.
