    Hello Everyone,

This week I got my Class A license on my first attempt. I have no restrictions and a tanker endorsement. My CDL school was 60 hours.

I'm struggling to find smaller companies that are:
    1) hiring out of California.
    2) hire no experience driver.

I am 22 years old, no criminal history and have a clean driving record. I would ideally like to drive OTR/cross country. If anyone has any recs, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm really excited to join the trucker community!

The 60 hr. school is short, so some companies won't hire.
Western Express Flatbed will though and runs coast-to-coast.

Western Express offers flatbed driving opportunities with top pay, new trucks, priority home time, and more. Learn about the flatbed options, training programs, and perks for drivers.

Do yourself a favor and move out of California if it would be feasible for you.

Yes,. this is a tough one but doable. Big carriers probably are not going to take you except Western Express. They are not top pay but can get you a start. Also, keep in mind 90% of jobs out there are not advertised on indeed. You have to call your local companies. Beverage routes, concrete companies, farming oil, construction etc.. you have to call them.. probably will call 50 companies to find one yes but worth it.

@bryan21384 ran coast-to-coast with Western Express Flatbed. He has no complaints.

Just slide over to Las Vegas when you can. No state income taxes and no food taxes at the grocery stores.

CA laws & taxes make people with CA CDLs less desirable. You may have more opportunity if you can use someone's address in a nearby state to get a CDL in that state.
