Just Got My CDL A, In Ct.. Help?

Hello, any one know where to turn now? Lol kinda lost.... I have 4 moving violations at the moment one dropping off in march of next year.... No accidents No dui... Just the 4 moving.... Most OTR wont even say hi to me when i talk to them... I live in Connecticut... Any one know start places in the New England Area?

As for my test... not that it matters i think... I got a perfect score... How i dont know but hell who cares.. The inspector was nice surprisingly.. Started to get nervous when he wasnt saying anything just i guess be a driver for once in my short time... I went to nettts somers ct.. new egland tractor trailer school... Was taught some good things i guess hey got me to my CDL.... So as when i started im still lost... I know school has placement aid but really id i dont look whos really gonna hand me a job... Will you??? ...

Any reply's or suggestions would be much appreciated... OH and i get my Picture taken on Tuesday.... Oh what should i ware... Wait why am i thinking this way does it make me gay... Nah just bored ^^ Reply Plz..

 

as a part of your tuition, the school OWES YOU job placement service/assistance... i highly suggest using it. the job placement counselor will try his (or her) level best. but i should point out, this is one of the MANY reasons why NETTTS SUCKS.....they take in people with bad driving records, or criminal records, or not enough ENGLISH skills or no high school diploma or GED.....

I KNOW OF NETTTS and their "reputation" in the educational world........

YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD, UP FRONT your driving record will hinder you some what...if you were, and BEFORE YOU SIGNED ANY PAPERS, then at least they "were up front".....but if not....well then sadly, you join the rest of the ranks of NETTTS students that will NOT find a job quickly. sad part here too is, if you go beyond 90 days with out a DRIVING job, you will be told to go back to school for either a refresher, or the ENTIRE course all over again, and NETTTS WILL NOT let you do this for free either.....!!!

all i can suggest is try an LTL carrier near you. I do not know where your town is, but try Yellow, Old Dominion, NEMF, NewPenn, R+L Carriers, maybe even FedEx National, or Conway.

i truly DO wish you well, but this is sickening about NETTTS, and their lust for money, not the students best interest......they should have denied you an education, if only to spare you agony later on......

Most carriers will not hire drivers with more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. Some have reduced that to 2 moving violations. You are considered a high risk by most carriers and insurance companies. There is a possibility that you could find something when 1 drops off next year, but I think it will be challenging for you to get started while those tickets are on your record. The only thing that I could suggest is to keep checking with carriers. You could find one who will give you a chance. One problem you will have is your lack of experience. There are only a handful of carriers who can afford to hire inexperienced drivers due to insurance requirements. You could check some of the trucking forums that have company listings. Some will have basic hiring requirements or restrictions. You could try to fill out some of the online applications and they will forward it to companies that match your qualifications.

 

Ya i wish nettts would have told me my record would hurt that much.. Of course they didnt... Well i guess i just gotta apply... Is there any hope that some 1 might hire me with my record or its just gonna be a dead end no matter what

there "is some hope" to getting a job. apply to the companies i mentioned earlier, maybe as a dock worker OR yardman/fueler, as you WILL NEED a CDL A for that job. if you can get on the docks OR the yard, at least you are "in" and working towards your benefits and "earned time", which DOES lead to you being told, "take this truck, and make this delivery (or pick up)......

but yeah, good ole NUTTTS and the ever present greed they hold for the money, and "screw you" mentality.

just keep applying, and in the meantime, STAY PERFECTLY CLEAN....!!! your future depends on this, right....????

 

Ya it does... And ya you dont want to know the price now... errmmm 9600$ for the same training i got last year for 7, lol good ol nuttts as u say... Nothing on jewish people... But Nettts was a "jewish" stingy school equipment hardly in working order, #### my test truck wasnt even "road" worthy lol.... but hey i will say i got my CDL and thank god for that i did learn some cool things on the way now to get working... Any clue what to do to find dock hand jobs? just search it?, or is there certin docks that are good for new comers in connecticut or close by? I figured you guys would know the good/bad docks or what have you Thx for the replys ^^

 

Question about cr, ive heard they make you lease a truck... Well what if i have a credit score of like 500 lol ya it sucks but i doubt theyll help me that way huh

 

Fill out every app you can and let the school help you, we had a guy that was in the same spot as you and 3 week after he finished school the career services dept had him working

yeah, at one DMV test site, well the only one they have in RI, a NUTTTS truck was sent away due to defects, needless to say, so were the 2 students, as RI has a strict policy, 2 students per truck.....PERIOD....don't you think someone at NUTTTS caught heck for that...???? reschedule 2 students NO CHARGE....!!!

talk about "rich", Mark's wife OWNS Milton's stores.......how's that for having a wee bit too much money, yet the road trucks fail inspections for a simple $2.00 light bulb.....?????

as for the dock work, "apply with-in", just walk in, or go online. again i do not know where you live in Naugatuk...??? in any event, I-691, in Chesire, you have Bozzuto's, and on I-91, Rocky Hill(??) you got Sysco i think.......apply with in or online, this is the best i can help you with my friend.

i just hope you DO inform others of NUTTTS and the facts THEY HIDE, my God man, i can't do it alone....!!

and yes, the tuition went up to $9,500........>!!!! for the same old crap, and no pay raises for the instructors too i might add....i know, i got a buddy that works there.........and I DO KNOW more about NUTTTS........then i let on about......
