Hello, everyone. I am a female who is currently looking into CDL classes and signing on with a sponsoring company by the end of summer. I come from a family of truckers, so I do know a good bit about the trucker life. However, my two main sources of this knowledge passed away in January, so I definitely need some guidance and I have some questions. Bare with me as my questions often come randomly. Right now, I’m thinking about what kinds of things I will need to stock in my cab for my 2-3 weeks out. What are the necessities and what are some things you take just because you want them? Can you have a TV in the cab? I’d like to have my TV and game systems if I can, as that is my favorite past time when I am not at work. I love coming home after a 16 hour shift and getting an hour in on a game. Is that a realistic idea? I’m not concerned about the 14 hour shifts obviously because I already work 16 hour shifts now. But how do you stay awake on the road? How do you keep the focus when your eyes don’t want to work anymore? I know with sitting so long every day, weight becomes an issue. So how do you guys manage to get your exercise and workouts in? Do you find ways to eat healthy on the road? These are just the questions I have for now. If you can think of anything a newbie driver should know, feel free to leave that here for me to read as well. Thanks in advance. :)

Here's another one that has their own cdl school and trucks are similar to Millis Transfer.
Pay structure is about the same. Trucks set up for your gaming equipment probably with either company.

I think eating healthy is the biggest thing to keeping off the weight... If u do tanker or open deck u get a little more workout but its not like cardio or anything , but it gets u out of the driver seat for a hour or two which is important....i have a tv in my truck but the only time i ever watch it is usually on a 34 hour break if i get one.. Evem then im usually caught up with doing laundry and cleaning the truck or just catching up on sleep etc.... Its tough out here but it sounds like u will be alright

Thank you for all your replies. I was looking at Pam, but my mom used to drive for Pam and she keeps telling me not to go with them.

I know the truck stops aren’t always healthy options, but that just means you have to be more selective. Can’t I also keep a mini fridge for some other options?
