laptops and internet for a newbe trucker?

I am the wife of a rookie truck driver. I would really appreciate suggestions on what to buy him for his truck so he doesn't go crazy! He loves music and his family. A laptop and wireless, maybe? Something that can keep him busy and connected with his family back home? Satelite radio?

Well, I would get him a 17+ latop with a blueray player, and get an air card for the internet, then get a usb converter to make the laptop into a 17" television.

The blue ray / dvd would be for watching a movie if he rents or brings them with him.

The laptop would be used for find locations "Google Earth", Mapping etc.

Also the laptop would be used for e-mails.

Get a portable usb scanner for the laptop, and he could scan in all his paper work and it would never be lost. He could also use it to submit his paper work it works great.

Keep in focus that he does-not have a lot of room, and buying the right laptop would due just about everything for him!


Try Newegg.com for the cannon scanner or and printer, and the usb to convert it into a television.

Then either staples or office max for the laptop, there on sale all the time.

ATT for the air card for the Laptop to connect.

Check out slickdeals.net free website that has laptops listed all the time. Its not purchased directly from slickdeals its a deal forum that you can find discounts on that others find online. Great place to keep an eye on if your looking for a good laptop, there are almost daily deals found on laptops.
