If that truck was your baby and you treated it well I would just try selling it and getting the most you can out of it cause the driver you hire will abuse the heck out of it.

Keep in mind, some folks on here might be motivated by the desire to eliminate competition.

In this market? You would almost have to try to sell it at a loss. Even then I'm not too sure you'll be able to.

You would sell the company that owns it.

#1 problem is a driver. You might get lucky but the change is like the lottery. I did math on it and it is not worth it in my opinion. Truck maintenance will always be require every 10-12k oil change. You expect a driver to driver as good as you and have your motivation very rare if not impossible. All the numbers i stated.are based on a better market not a 2019 or 2020. And as I feel and see as soon as this market relaxes the oversupply or trucks in the market will drop freight prices like a rock. Hopefully I'm wrong but we all saw 2019 after 2018 and that was not even close to current. If you look at the used truck market its sky high as are trailers saw a 2007 for 19k. A 2014 volvo with almost 600k on it for 79k if you want to sell ,sell.. If you want to make moves do it before the moment is lost as I said its all the driver that will make you the money make you or break you and crossed fingers no truck issues based on inflated rates of transit with fuel going up slowly.

I understand the angle you are taking here but we don’t know the situation. The OP could have a medical disability where he is able to collect some money that way. There are a number of other different reason as well.
But again, I think anybody who believes they are going to make a living by itself by having one truck and hire a driver is mistaken

My wife and i run team. I also know of someone starting a company in my area that might be interested in your truck. I've been driving since the 90's. I'm old school and have worked with owner ops before so i know how to respect an take care of one's equipment. PM me and we can talk. If ya decide ya don't wanna put a driver in it then i can put ya in touch with my friend that may be interested in buying your truck.

Depends on how you registered the MC#

If you registered it to a company or LLC and it’s been in use for several years it’s worth about $10k

If you registered it in your personal name and NOT to a company or LLC it’s not nearly as valuable .

I'm exploring several options right now and leaning towards selling.
