So after months of driving dump trucks locally and filling in for my dad when he has local runs. I finally decided to get some full time trailer experience. I went through a laundry list of companies to see which one suited me best and Schneider ended up being my choice. They offered me a dedicated Target run for the Central Atlantic. They signed me up for the experienced driver orientation which surprised me seeing that I told them I have less than 400 miles of trailer experience. And they said they count 1 day of driving for any company as a month of experience. So since I first drove flatbed for my dad in September and the last time being a few weeks ago they consider that as 4 months of experience. Which qualified me for the 4 day program instead of the three week one.

I am not looking for this to be the best job ever, but I am using this as a year to gain as much experience as I can. So that I can find something better and or go buy my own rig.

Any advice or comments from you all?

Schneider has some decent bonuses for company drivers. They do have some asinine procedures though and it can be aggravating at times.

Orientation is very boring! But not bad company. I’ve been there a month on Wal-Mart dedicated account. No negatives so far
