I guess it's safe now to post this now... I've verbally agreed to make the switch to Schneider National for a position in the Dedicated Accounts Division. It's for start ups, surge support and vacation coverage so the scenery changes and then the equipment varies so I can broaden my experience. I suspect the big sign-on bonus is because it's more hands-on-freight and many people don't want to bother with that but I am actually looking forward to more physical activity to work off my trucker's gut. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone else has any feedback on this type of work.

You will end up doing a lot of dollar store accounts for the most part. I was on costco dedicated before they went to swift but thed always send me to the midwest to help out on various accounts which were dollar stores

That makes sense because Dollar Store stock is going through the roof.

Yea but those accounts have a large turnover rate because the pay isnt that great. The only reason I did it is because they paid me .37cpm $15 a stop $150 a trailer and $200 a day for travelling up that way.

    Jake_Blue Thanks this.

Yeah, that explains why my offer is straight daily rate, at least as far as I can tell. Any mileage or stop pay will be gravy but I think they must be getting away from that. Will update if I learn differently.

Preliminaries out of the way, talked to recruiter yesterday and got final details email. Looks like Monday is the big day!

I run basically the same thing at Averitt. They have had this division for over a year now. I do all their dedicated accounts in the TX area but can travel to other areas if I volunteer for it. Yes Dollar stores are a big part of it. Do you get an assigned tractor for this position or do you travel in your own vehicle and use the trucks on site? AV started me in a brand new Volvo with APU with 1500w inverter. I love the freedom this division gives me.
