hello, we are a 50yo white married couple who is going to start our training in July. We are new, never drove a truck and we are looking for a new career. We have spoken with many companies and would like another married couple train us.
We are both very responsible people, easy to get along with, want to learn. We are interested in OTR we are Ok with being out for long periods. If your company has a program where you can make some extra $ by recruiting other drivers, we are OK with that.
We are looking for and do not know if this possible, is that Each of you take one of us each, but not sure if they will release the truck we would get after the training ?
Any feed back is wanted, we are trying to learn as much as we can before we do this move in July.
We have researched all the companies that take new drivers on and have a few in mind to research more.

If you like to chat with us feel free to write us email removed.
    Thank you
    Enjoy the day.

You will each have to train seperately and then team after the training.
While companies have trucks set up for more than two persons in their training programs, they are for use in training in and around town. Once you have your CDL and are assigned a trainer, it's just two to a truck.

what they are asking for is a current married team to split up. the husband (for example) would take the truck they currently drive along with the male trainee, the wife would take a different truck with the female trainee. not sure if youll find a team willing to split up like that, but if there were a significant recruitment bonus, it would seem to me they would make out like bandits for doing so. (recruiting a team usually comes with a bigger recruitment bonus than 2 single drivers, plus getting paid all miles for two trucks for the length of training time?) what youre offering, tho coming with a large sacrifice, sounds like a sweet deal to me. biggest problem is...most married team drivers dont train. truck is setup for 2 otr drivers maximum, so teams already are "at capacity", and dont train new drivers.

There are a few solo trainers that will train couples together.. But finding a H&W running seperate is unsual I would think ..most run teams.. You can also find several companies that have women trainers for your wife and you some man.. Why do they need to be married ?

And, most teams are not also mentors/trainers.
Said H/W team would first need to be trained to be a trainer.

What you are wanting is not really that practical.

Really not going to find what you are looking for. One possible option is Watkins Shepard, They bring you in for 10 days training at their terminal and then send you out together, no trainer. They go back and forth on hiring newbies so give them a call.
US Xpress only sends you out for 3 weeks (120 hours btw) with a trainer and then put newbies together to team for 8 weeks. A married team can take advantage of that.
Nobody I am aware of pays recruitment bonuses for newbies.

    Thank You to all,
Yes we understand that what we are looking for is hard to impossible to find and thank you pokerhound67 you hit it right on the head,
maybe there might be something like that out there and no they do not need to be married, very open to two sole driving, just thought it be nice to get to know the person who might train us a little, see if there was a way to help the trainer make a few extra $$ if there was a bonus program, if not we are ready to do it just like everyone one else has, not a problem with that.
Please keep the comments coming we are very open minded people and enjoy hearing them
