They are all good 1 out of 10 times and all suck otherwise. The sad truth is that pretty much everything that hits an internet loadboard is leftover junk. What's left (like 1%) are emergencies and that's what any of us that run spot successfully make our living on.

To answer your question, DAT is the most popular and arguably the best phone app and ITS is the best desktop. Just my opinion......

Thank you for the reply! I figured as much. I would use them until I get more so a customer base. Which is my main goal. Target the small companys and hopefully try to cut out the middle man

Well that is one approach. Lots of guys do it that way. Personally I don't want many direct customers. They require too much maintenance. I prefer a few good brokers to give me a base, so to speak, and then I run mostly off DAT and ITS. I have some luck with the big 3PL's boards but just remember who the bottom feeders are. CHR, TQL, JBH are only good for absolute emergencies in my mind. That means I haven't used any of them but maybe once in the last year.....if at all. Landstar can be good. Convoy and Uber can too depending on the day.

Don't get it in your head that brokers are all bad. Brokers do a lot. The bad ones are really bad but the good ones take care of inevitable problems. They are necessary in our industry and that's why they're still around. I do not think they will be replaced by computers.

Good luck. Keep records of good and bad brokers.

Did you find your good broker through the load boards by trial and error or personal references?

Trial and error. I knew no one and nothing about this game when I got in to it.
