Yeah first of all I know they’re a mega carrier. But I’ve spoken with a recruiter recently and really liked what they were saying. They seem to really have the transition down smooth. But I wanted to hear from some people who drive for them or may be formally did.
i’m being offered $.68 per mile, a $5000 sign on bonus paid within 30 days, and they even pay $225 for orientation that you do at home. Basically do the orientation and then they set up for you to go get your truck at the closest terminal. I’m out of Raleigh North Carolina. I haven’t decided the pros and cons between possibly a dedicated or OTR position.
I won’t bore everyone with the list of questions, if you were an experienced driver, you probably already know what they are. Anything anyone has to say, say it, I’m all ears as I’m still shopping for final company to work for.
I especially liked that if you stay out two weeks you can take four full days at home with the truck. And get this, they actually pay you $100 per day for each day that you sit at home for that week. If you don’t take the four full days off they bank it and you can accumulate extra days off with that. Up to 14 days. now that’s a good set up if you ask me. Or you can run 7/2. So basically a driver could stay out 14 days, take three days off, put an extra day in their bank and every three months you could probably take a week off or so with pay. Can’t beat that. Is this legit?

It's reefer duty.
You'll earn every penny of it.

Don't know if Leonard's Express can compete with KLLM or not, but worth making comparisons.
@xlsdraw drives for Leonard's Express.
Leonard's has a facility in NC.bryan21384 and xlsdraw Thank this. -

If you already have reefer experience--then I would not accept another reefer job (if I were in your shoes) until I looked into what is available with DOT Transportation:
Transportation Company Jobs | Drive For Dot | Dot Transportation, Inc. (drivefordti.com)
If I went back to reefer, that's probably who I would drive for.
Good luck, Driver.

You already make a decision? Dedicated hometime is a little different than otr, they don’t really track the 7/2; only otr gets paid hometime… I don’t believe you can bank it but maybe policy changed, I was told it was use all available or restart at zero on return.
I’m not familiar with the accounts we have available in NC, but if you value a more consistent schedule, go dedicated; fueling used to be laxer till the prices went up. I think we’re a good choice for lazy people, but at the same time we do have some accts that run pretty hard.bryan21384 Thanks this.
