Hello everyone, I have a Frieghtliner Cascadia DD15, if yall can help me know what's exactly going on with my truck. I'm loosing coolant from my cap. I only have 450k miles on motor. Burning about a gallon every 5k to 7k miles. Haven't taken to the shop yet. Have a yellow engine light stays on for a bit before I start the engine. Goes away after I start up

burning or pushing it out? check rad cap, if ok then you may have a head gasket blown or cracked head, or liner issue. GET IT FIXED BEFORE YOU TOAST YOUR ENGINE!

True factory warranted will, extended warranty/used truck Freightliner warranty normally only covers "hard" parts.

Should be covered if you have extended warranty, good to 500,000 miles or five years.

I wouldn't volunteer the info that You've been driving it like this for X amount of days, may be used against you. When it comes to neglect, they don't like to pay up, which is understandable. Coolant is not supposed to be pushed out of the overflow tank. More times than not, that's not a good sign. Usually it's exhaust gas leaking in from what I know. I'm not sure if an exhaust leak will cause the coolant to get into the oil but You don't want that coolant getting into your oil, hydro locking the engine and etc. white smoke out the stack after warming up to operating temps has been known to be from coolant leaking into oil, usually not a good sign.

A bad head gasket can cause the oil to burn also?
