I read about all these .8 cpm to 1.30 per mile leases and I'm forced to wonder....HOW??? I have an honest question.....How do you get your cost down to 1.30 cpm??? I don't lease, but I financed my truck payment is $301.73 a week bobtail is $50per month comprehensive is $200 per month $46 per month HUT $150 per month Plates $150 per month truck parking $17 per month for LLC fees $150 per week maintenance fund $155 per month for telephone $25 per month for truck wash $200 a month for accounting + payroll $49 per month for attorney retainer I always fuel at my carriers yard so I get about $180 IFTA refund every quarter. My fuel cost per gallon for 2015 was $2.16 My MPG and repairs last year were high, I bought the used truck in 2014 and the repair bills, even after a mechanics PPI were high (Over $20k and I'm still hunting down issues just ran the overhead and did an injector cut out test due to poor mpg's ) so I kept them out due to being abnormally high. Also did not include tolls....but they were .04cpm last year and will be cut in half this year. I took 2 weeks vacation and was down for about 3.5 weeks due to truck repairs....Also out sick 2 weeks.... That all comes out to $1.55 per mile on 74K miles ($1.41 on 100K miles) a 30K salary on 74K miles All miles 2015 was $1.76, for a $15,500 profit... Now, please tell me where I can lower my costs....looking for advice here.....
Next year, barring unexpected downtime, I should work an extra 4 weeks. Also I was pulling cheap freight at another carrier for Jan and Feb ( Changed carriers, new carrier all miles$1.88 old carrier $1.19).....
The difference i see is that you are trying to do an honest cost per mile. Some of yours are higher than mine and some are cheaper. A lot of guys just do fuel, ins, plates and maybe a truck payment when they do cpm Don"t forget when you do low miles annually your fixed costs (plates, ins, etc) are higher per mile. My cost would be every bit of 1.50 per mile also before a wage I average about 2.75-3.00 per mile on around 60,000 miles a year.
Thank you, next year with 4 more weeks of work should be closer to 80-85k miles... My all miles should hopefully go up to at least 1.90 or more as I've started hauling hazmat.....
Two things I see. $46 a week for HUT is that for 2290 only or something else included? $150 a week for plates?
The $150 a week is alot of money $7800 a year for plates....... I paid $22??.?? For my plates and ifta for this year. I would start there and see why your plates are so high.
Sorry that should be $150 per month for plates $1791.21 and the HUT is $46 per month or $550 per year.
