How do you get mail while you are on the road? Should I just wait till I get back home?

Sometimes you just need stuff in your hand quickly...

Get ALL your mail sent to a PO Box and have a friend or neighbor clean out the junk mail at the house mailbox. I setup my PO box at a post office right off the freeway, making it easier for me to stop, grab and go. I also made the post office aware, I'm not paying for a PO box for accepting junk mail. It took me a few conversations to get them right on this. :biggrin_25525:

That can be tricky. Is it piling up in your mailbox? Is your mailbox secure? Can a friend/neighbor collect it? How often do you get by the house? You need to make a list of bills coming in and on what dates they usually arrive. FYI, you can pay any bill without the statement. Just mail in your check with the account # written on it. I've never had a problem doing it like that. Plus, there's phone payments too. And automatic checking account deducts. (not recommended, hard to un-do)

For the really important mail, I will usually arrange for a family member to FedEx the needed mail to the nearest terminal that I will be passing through. Other than that if it's not that important, then I wait until I get the chance to pass through the area to collect mail.
