I am considering getting into the trucking industry and I have been doing a lot of research. I mean a lot. I think it has become an obsession. I think I could be an actuary for the trucking industry. My thoughts are simple. There are 10's of thousands of owner operators. You all get your own authority. You all get your own insurance (truck and medical). You all do everything your self, loads, taxes, and the list just goes on. Why in the hell don't about a thousand of you get together and work together. Higher account Higher a dispatcher Higher a sales person Pool the insurances This way you can buy another truck You can finance each others trucks You can have multiple trailers for each truck and share them. More dedicated runs. Get together in a pool throw in $1000 each You now have 1 million dollars. Everyone pools another 100 per month for expenses. You can get fleet deals on maintaince now. Get fleet deals on qualcomm. Have account stay up with your books. I do see some draw backs on this but I see a lot more benefits. One of the biggest benefits I can see is that you could tag team long dedicated runs. You could get back home every night. I don't know what the hell I am talking about I have not even drove a truck for 12 years. Just a thought guys. But I tell you what if a thousand O/O come up to me and invest $1000 each I will make them rich.
