Just a general question to anyone driving a binder with the maxxforce 13l engine. I'm driving one now( a rental) 485 hp and drove one a few months ago(same hp). Is it just me, or are these things just plain gutless? first one i drove,i ended up taking it to the nearest dealer along my route because i seriously thought something was wrong.
Now don't get me wrong, I drive a cummins equipped prostar and absolutely love this truck. Hp is a bit low and the company has us speed limited, and the usual problems with the dpf, but overall, good truck.
But these maxxforce engines??... Everywhere I've read(truck mags, forums, etc) everyone complains that they are a SLOW engine. WHY??
Both the 13l and new 15l trace their genes back to giants of the industry.(mann and Cat)
C'mon International Get your S$%t together!

Sorry for the rant. had to get that off my chest.

    Maxxforce engine's platform is MEGR.
MAN, who worked with International, have themselves given up on that platform and gone the route off the other's which is DEF and limited EGR.
