I am finally done with this joke of an outfit.....

They nickle and dime you to death, treat you like you are something they just dragged in of the bottom of a shoe...

Recent events have very much decided me that it is time to move on...A big issue was a safety concern when one of the axles on my trailer was pointing in the wrong direction from the other....called maintenance ans was told by the shop manager after I described it in detail that it was ok to move to a repair shop (I am not a mechanic never have been never wanted to be!)...got to the repair shop and was told in no uncertain terms that if I had been stopped by DOT I would have been shut down where I was.....

They stopped points on the drivers pilot cards without telling them, freeze driver raises again without telling them.

Gave me an impossible choice as to whether I went home basically for overnight last weekend then take an enforced 34 while out on the road (and unpaid of course...) or to take it where I was in Indiana about 3 hours from home...I took the second option.....ans was 'rewarded' with a huge 1,300 miles this week.....and on a load that delivers on monday morning....asked if they could do something about it and was told to 'pick up the load then we can work something out'....needless to say I never heard another thing from them.

This company has dispatchers and planners who dont give a ####, and a 'higher up' who has no idea about pretty much anything really.....

I am going to orientation at Crete on the 28th will it be perfect...no.....but anything has got to better than McLeod.....

Hey Chowick, I almost applied to that (Mcleod) company. I decided to go with Crete. I have heard a lot of good things from other drivers at Crete and they all seem to be happy there. I also will be attending orientation at Crete on the 28th of December or the 4th of January. Good Luck

Same stuff I went through last year at this time. Of course back then they had the $800/wk guarantee. I never even got 1300 miles once in a week, but then they still paid me $800. as soon as they stopped the guaranteed pay i was gone....good luck!

How did they stop you from getting points on your Pilot card?

I don't think he said backwards but I think it had shifted and was at an angle that would make the trailer run out of line!

Companies can decide if they want the drivers to get the "points" or not. It's cheaper for the company to stop the points as they are actually paying for them in fuel cost. The can't stop the shower as thats a truck stop gimmick to get you to buy at lease 50-75 gallons even if you only needed 30.

My Dad was a trainer at a company and one of his students got fired and went to work for McLeod (guy got a speeding ticket and the first company wouldn't keep him on until it was resolved). He lasted roughly a month. 2 separate weekends he was broke down on the road. Once for 3 days, other time for 4. Neither time they paid him agreed to breakdown pay, and he walked when he got to the terminal in Decatur. Also they started making guys that lived 150 miles from Decatur to park there (not 100% about the milage, but I think it's 150). I used to live 100 miles from Decatur and have heard lots of stories that did not end well at McLeod.
