So I just moved a load for Coyote. The receiver refused to take the prepaid lumper, even when I gave them the prepaid code. It was a Kroger facility and I was already there for 7 hours, trying to get unloaded. So I decided to pay out of pocket(I confirmed that Coyote would reimburse me) because I was tired and wanted to get the hell outta there.
I submitted the paperwork via email and this broker doesn't even reply me for over a day. So I call him up and he said that "... because it's Kroger, it might take up to 30 days for revised rate confirmation."
I didn't know what else to do. I had no other options, so I just said okay and hung up. But is that normal though? How is it that hard to write up a new rate conf. with lumper fee and detention(I provided receipts and timestamps, and notified beforehand). So annoying. Is there anything more I could do about this? Other than just waiting? ...
Moved a load for Coyote. They told me 30 days for revised rate conf. Is this normal?

I had that happen a couple times but i dont think for coyote. Food deliveries suck. Hopefully it doesnt take that long for the revised version but i think all you can do is either follow up every few days or submit the invoice with the original rate con and eat the lumper fee. Waiting 30 days to even be able to bill them is tough.
I'm curious what others say though. -

Thanks for your insight mates. This my first year, and let me tell ya, with COVID 19, this year was one crazy year, and many many surprises. I dont like surprises...

Boy oh boy! I hear ya on that!

Ya it is so messed up that when it benefits the big guy they want to refer back to the “contract” but when it doesn’t benefit them there are all kinds of surprises that almost always cost you $.

We drivers are the blood cells fueling the economy of this country. I just wish they'd just show us more respect than this. We take on the hard work driving long hours, high risk(automotive accidents, equipment failure, etc) and they just sit behind their desks making phone calls and act so high and mighty.
jsnell and Speed_Drums Thank this.
