    Little info about me::

    Back in the early 90's I drove OTR for two years for Burlington Motor Carriers. Got off the road and got married and have not been back out there since.

    Contacted Swift back in October and they told me I would have to go back to school for three weeks. No problem went to school and completed the training.

    Four weeks ago I completed the orientation and was handed a driver code. I was sent home to wait for my mentor. Last week one called and said he would be picking me up.

    Then he called back and told me truck was in shop and it would be a little while. The next day he said I would need to call driver services and get a new mentor because his truck would be in the shop for awhile.

    The next day I called and let them know what happened to the mentor. They had no idea. I suggested that I wait until my hard copy of my license comes in because my paper copy was about to expire and would make no sense to go out and have to be routed right back here in a week.

    Driver services agreed call me as soon as you get it in your hand. I called the license department and my hard copy was already in the mail and arrived here Tuesday.

    I have been trying to call them back but have been immediately put on hold each time. I have been left on hold for hours and still today cannot seem to get through to them.

    Finally I have left a message with my recruiter hoping he may be able to do something for me.

    I do not mind if I have to sit here past Christmas if that will make easier for them to find me a mentor but I have been sitting by this phone for four weeks now and it is hard to go about your daily business if you never know when the phone will ring and your mentor has been found.

    Anyone currently going through this with Swift?

    Which terminal is this? If you feel like you're getting the runaround and you're not working with Phoenix, maybe it's time to call them.

    800-800-2200 push 0 for the operaor and ask for driver services.

    If you are dealing with Phoenix already, it sounds like it's time to shake the tree. Ask for the supervisor. Ask for the Operations manager (at your terminal first then PHX) work your way up the food chain.

    Let us know how it goes.

    If you are going to work for Swift you better get used to it! You are just a number there my friend. One good reason I would recommend going to a smaller company. Just wait until you personally have a major problem. Whatever you do make sure you have some emergency bus money stashed away at all times. Good luck to you its not too late to go with another company.
