    Hi everyone,
I was sent to a trucking school for CRST Expedited,
it was a 17 day course. On the 12th day I was kicked out because I didn't learn quick enough. I really want to become a truck driver and I have a permit but, also have bad credit so many schools are out of the question. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thank you

You are more than likely going to need schooling to get hired, and apparently more extensive training which is only offered by larger companies. I would suggest renting a truck, since it generally is a one time cash deal, no credit check. However, that does not gain you any training or experience to get you pre hire points. good luck.

What exactly do you mean "didn't learn quick enough"? Didn't learn what?

Oh, so this was company funded schooling and they weeded you out.

Was it book or driving skills?

Many states will pay for your schooling or at least a portion of it, check with local driving school for more info..

frankly 17 days of a course you went through was not enough.. that amounts to (about) 3 weeks....i mean c'mon, i teach truck drivers, and it takes a class B person about 4 to 5 weeks... there is just too much to learn AND practice and 17 days is not enough..

i would suggest, trying a local school and see if you qualify for the WIA program from your state. if not, then you will need a co-signer for a student loan, if you cannot get a loan on your own.

but you NEED to determine what CDL license you want, do you want an A for tractor-trailers, or a B for straight trucks..??

    chompi Thanks this.

ok then for crying out loud, it takes on average 4 to 6 weeks to learn class A and that is "the short course",

or 8 to 10 weeks for the "longer time course" (its just more practice time)

you were "rooked" into this by them...they ain't no school....
