I know what you guys are going to say. Talk him out of it I've been in it for 32 years and now my son would like to get in to it.He would need to go to a school,l have asked him to stay away from Co.like Prime and Stevens.I would thank more of a tech school in NC would that be a good choice.

Why not let him get his license with your tutledge, drive your truck for the test, and work local at first?

the worst thing i ever heard was this dumb ### who had his kid--about 16 in the truck with him for the summer
some body said it must be nice to have his kid with him ---and he goes "oh yes , he is going to be a trucker just like his dad"
i almost ##### slapped the guy-----there is definately nothing wrong with driving---but god--what parent doesnt want his kid to do better than what he did
if you have your truck and such--a bit different--but this guy was just a co driver and not a great one at that--he got the boot a couple months later for screwing up to much

At least he has an idea of what is in store for him having grown up with a dad who is a trucker. Perhaps this is what he is meant to do with his life. Who knows, he might just build the next mega carrier. Or, he could be very happy as a company driver for the next 30 years or so.

If you own your truck, you might think about taking him with you and teaching him how to drive yourself. Let him get a year experience and see how he likes it at that point. Having him in the truck you could encourage him to get his education.

If he really wants to do this then perhaps it would be better to help him realize his dream. He could find that it isn't for him after a year or two.
