Hey Everyone, Well here "s my situation, I have been in the trucking field, Since ,11/2002, My last job, Consisted of moving trailers, In and out of bays, Im talking about oversized loads, All so it included loading and unloading trailers, I got laid off in 04/2009, The last three years dosen"t count as driving, I all so had a accident in 08/2006, That shows up on my Dac Report, As a Rollover, Prime agreed to hire me in 06/2009, But I couldent work then, Cause I had some family issue"s , I had to take care of. So last week I called Prime up, And they sais no, Cause I have been out of work to long. Another company , Said since I havent really driven over the road, In the last year, That they couldent take me on, So now Im thinking, That maybe , I should go back to , Truck driving school, And get trained all over again. Some cmpanys will, Take you on, With a accident, That is three years old, Ant advice would be appreciated, Thanks Familtman.:biggrin_2558:

Try any small company in your area, or try the dirt haulers gravel companies cement plants, what ever can get you back in a truck, but always let them know about any accidents and tickets.

Yeah, you need to hit the streets and find a company that will give you that "recent experience." Be persistant.

Not understanding why you had to go home to get your permit. If I remember correctly, there have been a couple of posters that obtained their permit before showing up.

Did you not pass the permit written exam in the time allowed?

What is the reason your recruiter gave for not letting you go back?

I understand not having OTR experience. How long have you been unemployed? I don't think it was years. Just a couple of months, right? Like Ironpony said, just be persistent. there's a company out there that will hire you. Of course you'll probably have to go through all the motions again. Some if not all, but if you can help it. Don't sign your life away cause you want to drive trucks. There are jobs that would hire you for a whole lot less on your part. Try signing on with the USPS. Goto their website at WWW.USPS.com/jobs. Good Luck.

The USPS... now we know where you work.

Yeah, thats a business thats doing well.

"The U.S. Postal Service is losing money so quickly you'd think it somehow got mixed up in the subprime mortgage business. It's on track this year for an operating loss of between $6 billion and $12 billion, debt surpassing $10 billion, and a $1 billion cash shortfall. For any business, those are some ugly numbers."

Open up its sole privlage of delivering First Class Mail to competition, or remove its tax exempt status and watch the whole place collapse.
