I applied to RE West and the recruiter wouldn't return calls. I showed up and talked to the woman over safety. It was January last year. I was just out of school. Lots of driver unload. I went with Swift as RE couldn't tell me when a trainer was available.

Prime asked for my BMI. 35% and they won't take you.

We live about 11 miles from RE West main office in Ashland City TN, we work for Prime.

The Wests are all about one thing, $$$$, and their drivers are nothing more than a throw away tool to get that. They have low pay and high expenses, they charge the driver for anything and everything, and yes company drivers. While they have some pretty nice office staff, they will even tell you the Wests do not care at all about you.

Prime pays a lot better, and while they want to make the buck, they share the wealth with the drive in various bonus programs. Yes. Prime charges for things like load locks, trailer locks, chains, but they credit you back when you turn them in. The equipment is in better shape and newer, and they have the mechanical staff to keep it that way. The owner, Mr Low, wants a profit, but not at the expense of drivers. He is often seen talking to drivers at various times around the yard (heck, hubby has talked to him twice just in passing), and he wants to hear what you have to say.

Our personal preference, Prime. Yeah, it would be nice to have the yard less than 15 minutes away, but not at the expense of being treated like a person and not a belonging.
