Hello fellow drivers I am brand new to this forum but not to trucking I've been driving for 11 years as a company. I've pretty much squared everything away but how do I go about finding loads through companys?

    p.s. I run a flatbed.

you could lease onto a company and they'll pay you anywhere from 65-85% of linehaul or offer you some flat rate CPM for all miles while hooked onto them.
The real money would to run under your own authority but that also means you do all the work and take on more risk.

I would like to run under on my own name. I guess it depends if I can find steady work through someone.

Low rates are in the SE, better not go into Florida unless it's for $4 a miles because you'll get garbage coming out

Even as a company driver I never they never could get anything worth a #### out of there. I've talked to a few guys and unless I misunderstand them they said they made pretty good.

What is risk working on your own authority and searching for loads on his own?

More money invested equals more risk. Insurance rates have doubled, and even tripled in some cases compared to a few years ago. That's the biggest extra expense of having your authority. Ten years ago my insurance was just over six thousand dollars, today I know guys paying 18k and more.

You can try Tennessee Steel Haulers out of Nashville for loads. I used to work on their phone system but have not dealt with the trucking side.
