I know I gotta get training otr so I really dnt care just wanna get the experience n then move on as time goes by n I get the experience. also I wud prefer flatbed or fridge not really into doing van or touching freight but if I gotta do it for the first training so be it but I need help. plz n thanx
I'm sorry but you make a perfect example about going in blind. Don't you think it would have been wise to search any companies that will give you a shot? Here's something to think about, a company is hiring and going through all the applications and they see yours. Do you think they are going to place you in the stack of applications with drivers that have clean records? In some companies eyes you have a major issue with your record and they do not want to waste any time with you when they have drivers that don't have a record. My suggestion to you is get out and go door to door. Go talk with the companies so they can see who they will hire if they take a chance.
Just call companies that interest you. That hires students and tell the recruiter the truth and you'll get answer. And like one of the other post said PTL may hire you. They hire students and they hired my cousin his.marijuana charge was 5yrs old but the bright side is he had intent to distribute you only have possession.
I'm not trying to be the spelling and grammar police on this, but if you send in a application and resume using spelling and grammar as is in your OP your possession conviction will not matter. They will put it in file 13 before they discover the possession issue. Not trying to be a smart ### here just giving useful tip to you.
yea thanx @Chinatown has posted I did try PTL n got everything set up n ready for me... still looking around but its good to know I have 1 incase nothing else falls thru
A driver doing dryvan or reefer does not always touch freight .. depends on the company .. flatbed does require some hands on work .. and time ... tho anything requires time
I have not haul flat bed and will not. But I have haul reefer and dry van. I never touched freight once and only had to wash my trailer out once because I had hauled chicken to a plant and my next load was beef. But I haul containers now to the Savannah Port and still don't touch anything. From my knowledge tanker and flat bedding is more hands on and work.
If it was just a misdemeanor, have you looked into getting it expunged? Be easier for you if it just didn't show up anymore.
Georgia expunge rule is quite different and weird but ima look in to that since that was a first offender it should've got dismissed
