I offered donuts to the scalemaster last week. He declined, says he prefers cookies. Who knew?

Do the words Passive/Aggressive mean anything to you..??
You're all insulting and overbearing and then briefly get helpful like so you can then go back and point to just how "generous" you tried to be...
Ya' know, I never even said that I was talking about you, Chompi... and somehow you just inherently knew...
Also, I didn't say that I was offended so please quit projecting false assertions and intentions onto me.
There was some real merit to much of what you had to say in your first post.
What you seem to miss is this...
You don't have to be a condescending jerk to someone to relate good information and ideas. Just tell the truth as you see it and leave the "I know it all and you know nothing" attitude out of it. You have no clue what I do or don't know.
FWIW, one of my best friends has driven for most of 40 years now. (is with Ace Doran ATM) I've learned a lot of things from him too but I'd like to have more opinions than just one.
So, I joined here and sought out just that.
Look, I've got a few years on you and I have been around the block enough times to know that there are real jacka$$es in the world as well as those who just act like one sometimes.
Here's hoping you are just that latter...

I inherently knew because I was the only poster above your post.

I am not a "know it all" just here to offer advice to those who ask questions of mistakes I have already personally made.

I DON'T KNOW everything about your situation and can only go by what you post.

I never, ever try to intentionally offend anyone (unless offended first) on this forum.

My disclaimer was put up at the end of my post to ensure I didn't intentionally offend you because it is hard to read the tone of an individual by simply reading typed posts other than inserting a smiley or frowned face.

Sorry if my info offended you. That was not my intent. Only to save you time and lots of money in an industry you know nothing about.

Once again, sorry if my post offended you.

    Fair enough.
I consider that matter settled then.

That said, I will say that what you initially said about the 7/7's has made me rethink that a bit.
I will certainly know enough to ask more questions before I get into anything like that.

    Thanks

    Insert smiley face... and handshake....

Even if you ran 3500 miles in 7 days (which is high) and then took 7 days off that comes out to 1750 a week. Not so good... That's roughly $550 a week, not enough to keep me away from home.

Realistically you would most likely run 2000 miles. You would end up doing more loading and unloading then driving, on duty, eating up your log book.

    Hmm,
Yeah, I see what you mean...
How are these guys making that work then? I mean, Roehl must have enough of them doing it to keep offering it as a "program" or "option".
Also - I see where Schneider gives their drivers the option of getting paid by the mile or by a percentage of the load. I would think the percentage deal would be better if you are running regional or dedicated stuff, wouldn't it?

For the most part its just a marketing ploy. It gets the newbies in the door and a month down the road when they find out they aren't making any money then their only option is to quit or stay out longer. Any experienced driver knows this, its just not possible to make money that way.

    Dagger Thanks this.
