    Help needed....
I have a 2001 Freightliner XL with a Cat c-15. The warning light and buzzer for over heat came on. Temp gauge was fine, checked coolant level good so I confirmed and took an actual temp and the gauge is right. After removing the buzzer I drove 1400 miles with no problem other than a red light on the dash.

    Now the question:

I know that there are two sensors for coolant temp, one for the gauge and one for ECM. I am guessing there must be a third and wanted to see if anyone has had this problem?

    Any help would be great.

there are instrumental clusters that get ECT data from J1708 ore J1939 CAN, you can put this cluster and use only one ECT sensor, used by computer. These ECTs are accurate.

The sensor that was bad was on the passenger side back of the head on the top with a single wire. 7/8 socket and 3 minutes work after I found out which sensor.

It is now a better day!!
