Got here Wednesday Morning. I was told I would be able to get unloaded Wednesday night at 11PM. I was upset because that was 12 hours away but the receiver only had night receiving hours. Night came I got there at 11PM they said my appointment time is for the following evening at 11PM. I tried everything to get them to unload me, even offered to unload myself. Nothing at all! Next night (tonight!) got there at 11:40PM and they said they are not going to unload me because Im late for my appointment. I have to come back Sunday at 11PM. I can not afford to stay here another 3 days with this load, what can I do? Ive called everyone and no one can get this receiving manager to budge. At this point I want to ditch this load, however, I dont know how to get these pallets off my trailer.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Wow, what a pickle. First thing I would do is let everyone on this site know exactly the who's and where's of the shipper and receiver on this shipment that you are babysitting. Sounds like neither are being very helpful.
I can not think of really any immediate recourse for you. Aparrently the receiver does not need whatever you have on your truck very bad. I really can not understand them making you layover for so long before being unloaded. Right now all I can see in your immediate future is to have a real good 34. Don't know what you are carrying, but you off loading somewhere can be very tricky and in the long run cost you a lot more than a lost weekend.
    Wish you the best.

Who booked the order, when did they say to deliver it, and how much are they paying for detention.

Maybe you should ask where the nearest landfill station is.

They don't need the product yet, so they are using you for storage. It's an old trick receivers use especially with refrigerated loads if they think the driver is inexperienced.

I'd simply call the broker if they were looking at having me warehouse for three days and tell him it will be in a cold storage facility.

Upon payment for services, then I would provide them with release information and wish them a happy day.

Today is Friday. What has happened between then and now. You were one day early the first time, then 40 minutes late the second time. Obivously you ticked them off when you arrived early, and words were exchanged, then you were late the next night, giving them an excuse to hold you up. These people appear to be hard to get along with, probably union, but you didn't follow the directions exactly either. That is reefer business. You have all the responsibilities, but are at the whim of shippers and receivers. You are an insignificant pawn in the scheme of the produce business. Of course, you could tell them to stick it and drive off if they didn't take delevery on the confirmed date. That is up to you.
