why do u hate it jgarner? those were the best man! IMHO PAM should become 99% automotive... but then they wouldnt have a 180% turnover
That's what caused layoffs in 2008. Relying too much on automotive freight. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
Every load I have had with auto. Has been nothing but headache. And yesterday done me in. At Chrysler all day. Went back and forth to different docks because they couldn't figure out where there own product went. They looked at Bol and acted like it was written in Spanish. Then they wouldn't let us out of the gate due to no gate pass. That they was supposed to give us. Not to mention they said we didn't have to have a Bol on empty racks. Complete screw ups at that plant in warren mi. I would be happy if they kept me running Conway loads and ct freight.
Haha! Nah, not yet. Besides tarping too much the past two weeks, I've had really good miles. Plus, just got off a project July 2nd that had me home every weekend for 4 months. I can't complain here. I'm running out of hours they're running me so hard.
Can you explain all the extras pam takes out of your check? I was told about escrow fee, and other misc charges??? What are they? How much?
for anyone who works for PAM or did since Aug 2010, you have $$$ coming, but you will have to sign up for it..Class Action for not paying us minimum wage during training, ori, layovers..check it out here..http://swartz-legal.com/flsa-fairla...ortation-class-action-lawsuit/..also..jgarner died Dec 29, '13..I went to FTA with him and was his roommate..RIP James, i'm sure you're watching over your brothers & sisters out there bro
the link doesn't have any of the information you speak of .... but (not to be on PAM's side ...which I really don't want to be) from my understanding to claim you make less than the minumum wage; working 70 hr weeks @ $7.25 an hour times 52 weeks is $26390 and if you made more than that you made more than the minumum ... I already don't qualify.... but I may be seeing it wrong... plus aren't truckers exempt from the regular FLSA??
you're understanding is off. the class action is for all New truck drivers hired by pam from aug 2010 to present. it includes travel time which none of us were paid. i actually had to sleep at a grey hound bus station in alabama and got to arkansas late the next day. it's also for the layovers which i had numerous days and days of sitting and waiting. there are 5 other companies that are being sued for basically the same thing, CR England, Roehl, Stevens, US Xpress and Werner. maybe the link didn't work for you. so google this: 'pam class action swartz' or try this link. swartz-legal.com/flsa.../p-a-m-transportation-class-action-lawsuit/‎ . it's going to be really awesome when the hiring company driver's solutions get their tails handed to them soon. That is what I'm waiting for
