Are you guys recommending adding fuel conditioner and letting the truck sit for as long as wanted or are you recommending adding fuel conditioner and idling the truck up to temperature once or twice a week when its parked for extended amounts of time?

What is an ‘extended amount of time’?
Years ago on the farm, any engine that was seasonal use, we always changed oil, filters, lubed, topped off the fuel before storage. Some engines went 9-10 months at a time never being started.

Were probably looking at 3 to 4 months and maybe beyond.

Grease it and lube everything well. Fill the tanks to the top. No room for condensation to build and mold to grow. Adding your favorite fuel treatment would be fine. More important if you might bring it out when under freezing temps.

Keep a battery maintainer on it and disconnect all loads. Removing the batteries and storing above freezing would be ideal, but as long as they are charged you should be good.

Mothballs or dryer sheets do a good job keeping the mice out.
