There were many "killer trucks" investigative reports on both national and local news during that era. It is a genre that was invented by CBS Reports in the 1950's and perfected on their 60 Minutes programs in the 1960's to what you see called "journalism" today. Take any topic, careful edit the presentation leaving out key facts with lots of innuendo and false impressions. Some shocking video goes a long way, and truck accidents always present that opportunity. Given the chance, I could make Santa Clause appear to be the world's most prolific child molester.
