Where is it located. Also, the indicator light is a large box back of the panel. Was thinking it would only be a light mount. Is this a light and a buzzer? How do I test it. How are the bulbs replaced? From the front or the back. On an old truck, plastic gets brittle. Don't want to pull on them too much and break something. Also, I have 2 light sockets marked Air. Is that corrrect? Thanks for the help. This forum is great. Been searching for most of my questions but this one came up blank. John
I think the pressure switch is located at the bottom kick panel under the steering wheel. If I remember right it's in an aluminum block. There will be a few pressure switches there. Like for brake light switch and stuff. At least I think that where they are on my '89 379. Behind the plastic panels bottom drivers side
I will look for the aluminum block. It shows that on the air supply schematic in the service manual I just bought. On the 359 there is no panel on the left side of the wheel, just an open hole with wiring connectors. On the right side of the wheel there is a large white plastic cover. Will take a look there. Still need help on my other questions. Narrowing down the list of stuff to fix for the DOT inspection. John
It will be to the right of the steering column. If it's there I can't help with the buzzer and light. That's different from a 379.
Open hood, on drivers side near top firewall you will find a plate that has 4 bolts. Remove 4 bolts and it will expose the aluminum block that will have pressure sensors. I don't recall exactly which one it is but follow the wire from the air light on dash back to that pressure valve.
Thanks much, Maggard359! How do I check and/or replace the bulb in the air light. Does it unscrew out from the front? John
I'm not sure on bulb removal I have never had to change one. I do know the buzzer is built in to the light part. Unscrewing face nut will only remove assembly. proper air location is on left.
Left one was correct. Now working. Thanks much. Can you tell me in clockwise direction what the other lights are? I have 6 on a corvette dash. From the top, we have diff lock, water (mid right), air (lower right, incorrect), green down arrow (bottom center), red unmarked (lower left) then air (mid left). John
Got to follow wires. One should be the differential lock. Like Maggard said. too hard to work on switches without lowering steering wheel. Take off plate
