Maybe this should go in a more general forum but since my experience is in tanker, I'll start here.
Have any of you experienced drivers gone the route of posting a resume to one of the big job search sites? What about the jobs wanted section of TTR forums? How did it work out?

Everybody and their brother contacts you. Mostly megas.
Greatest American Hero, D.Tibbitt, Smut and 3 others Thank this. -
I only seem to get messages from companies I already worked for. I worked for a large spotting company that shall remain nameless that even sent me weekly emails WHILE I worked there, for the position I was already working.

Nah. They stick your warm body into the seat, crack whip and yell MUSH.
None has time for fancy resumes. Not until they get all the grease and oil offen thisselfs.D.Tibbitt and Leviathan Tube Thank this. -
Indeed.com actually worked for me. Had the yard manager contact me for a local position pulling tankers. Worked there for 8 months but had to move on (not enough hours). I also made it very clear that I was only interested in tankers. Still get messages from asphalt haulers and what not.
It doesn't hurt trying.Leviathan Tube Thanks this. -

I've gotten nothing but OTR responses. Mostly megas.
I specified local. -
I got 27 job offers in a single when I registered for one of those sites and it was either megas or companies that really didnt have anything to offer someone with experience. Craigslist, Indeed, Favebook jobs, work of mouth and companies personal web pages have worked out the best for me
UturnGirl and Leviathan Tube Thank this.
