I got one from Werner 60 days in advance of graduation. I also had an offer from System 45 days in advance. Hope that helps.
I'm unaware of any limit, other than that established by company policy. After all, a pre-hire is not a promise of employment. It's a statement that if you qualify , they'll hire you. But they get to set the qualifications - and one is almost invariably that there's an available position for you.
It just means you look good on paper. When and if they give you a set of keys is when they are hiring you. Orientation is a extended interview.
As above, prehires mean nothing in terms of actually getting hired, it means they glanced over what you said you have on your record and they would accept you that way. Never consider them a proof of employment.
I was told that, but after you actually do the physicals and agility tests and are given a date for orientation, aren't you hired? I know that W&S did the background investigation, I had people tell me they called, plus i was self employed at one time and the called me for a reference for myself. lol I haven't heard if System did, I don't think they did. But they have given me a date for orientation as well, so does that mean you are hired? They are both going to pay for the transportation, which ever one I decide to go with in the end (this week)
in orentation you still havre to pass a road test, background test, dmv records check, etc before they actually hire you. Once you are highered you will be given a driver code, comdata or another type of fuel card and that means you have a job.
A prehire is a job offer saying that you meet their qualifications for the job. But you can still be disqualified at orentation after they run the reports or you do not do verry good on the road test. One of the biggest ways to be disqualified is to test positive for drugs or lie on the application.
