My friend has been driving for about 35 years and gave me a chance to drive for him. I'm getting my license on Tuesday and then on Wednesday he an myself are making a run from Connecticut to Ohio. He has an account to drive from Maine to Los Angeles. He said he would drive from Ct to Maine and back and let me take the load from CT to LA. After of coure a few training runs with him. My question is: Would this count as experience to another company if I decide to leave or he decides to get out of the industry? I don't want to be screwed and have to get a refresher course or start with a training company.
yes that would count, if i were you i would try to make sure you stay there for a least a year and If/When you do leave make sure its on good terms because you are going to need him to verifiy your experiance. Sounds like a good gig though! well except for LA traffic American Trucker
It's actually about 20 minutes from L.A.! But yeah it does! I think we will be on good terms. He has been a family friend since he was in high school and he's 53-55 now. I just have to iron out a few things this week first; My GF on the truck, health insurance, pay and most all small things. The pay has to be good though, I mean for me teamining with him on this quik little run to Ohio he offered me 300 bucks! So I said hell yeah I'd go!
