Question, need help!

My father, who was an owner operator, passed away Feb 19th. He was under a load at the time so now his truck and trailer are stuck in NV and my mother and I need to find a way to get it home to MO. The company he was leased to has already pulled all permits. So my question is what can we do? We need to get that equipment home to Missouri but we don't have much now that my father is gone. Please does anyone have any suggestions?

 

I am sorry for the loss of your father. Where in Nevada is the load located? You said he was under load at the time. Is the trailer still sitting there loaded, or just the tractor?

 

You would have thought the company he worked for would have gotten someone to drive his truck home for him.

 

We managed to get someone to deliver the load. The truck and trailer are now sitting in a shop owned by my fathers cousin.

 

That would have been the nice thing to do but we are coming to find out that the company he drove for did not care for him like we thought he did. He lived and died for that company. He never turned down a load, he would even take what we called the "#### loads" (excuse my language). His company did not even care enough to send a bouquet of flowers for his memorial service.

 

Sounds like a real POS company. Hard to believe that over a month has gone by, and the truck is still there, without being recovered one way or another.

 

first im sorry for your loss, what kind of truck did he have? if he had a truck that dosn't have a high roof on it you could have some one bring back on a double drop trailer and get a temp permit for the trailer and have some one bring it back on there truck

 

It is a 1998 Peterbilt 379, no scoop, regular sleeper. At first we were leaving it out there hoping my fathers cousin could sale it but things are getting sticky between the family and we want to get it out of their hands and back into our hands.

 

JSmitty, yes we are coming to find out just what kind of company he was driving for.

 

flat top sleeper ? all you whould have to do is remove the upper half of the stacks and load her up.
