    Hello all

Here is my question. I obtained a CDL in 1981 and I drove for three years locally hauling construction equipment - Low boy with a hydrallic beaver tail - I was then promoted - and I let my CDL expire. Now after all these years I am contemplating getting behind the wheel again. So my question is - Do I have to go through a CDL Training school again or does experience count with DMV's .

    Anyone know?

if you apply to otr companies, most will require school again. if you just go to dmv, you,ll have to take drive test and written test. good luck on whatever way you choose to go

Yeah since you know how to drive, if you have access to a truck, just go take the written and driving test. You'll be able to get a local job. If you plan on OTR you'll have to go out with a trainer.

If you have no access to a truck you'll have no choice but school.

Here's your online manual if you want to study!
