Is percentage a better pay method than CPM (lets say 25% of the load)? I have heard that it is a great way for newbies to start out, any truth to this?
Its great being on percentage as long as you aren't dead heading a long way to your next load. My last Company dead headed me from Marianna, Fl to Fostoria Oh. I was paid 75 for the dh and the load paid 120. But they only did that once after I let my dispatcher know that I can be really mean.....
I pulled end dumps and made 27% of the load and that was the best money I made as a company driver. I haul liquid now for percentage. to me percentage is the only way to go. esp as a company driver because when the rates go up you get a pay raise. large amounts of deadhead are going to be rare being the company is not getting paid to deadhead. just make sure you are getting a percentage of 100% not say 25% of 85%.
I make % and I deadhead probably 40% of my miles, I still average over 50 cents a mile for all miles I run...I haul dedicated product in a tanker, so its not like I can just grab a load of anything to anywhere...
I made mileage and the co still pays it. Ran the crap out of you too. They had BO and rooted for Hogs.
Question?? My air gauge is not working, but my line gauge is. What do i go by now, by reading my gauges? Could i read my line gauge the same way i do my air? Just don't wanna get clogged up.
They usually run about the same, depending on the distance you are pumping product. +/- 1 or 2 psi difference.
