    Hey Everyone,

I received a "Careless Driving" Ticket in November 2008; since then i have not been able to get Any jobs "whats so ever" since in the Trucking industry. How long does it take "Careless Driving" to come off your CDL, and also Will I ever be able to go back OTR?? if so what company would hire me out of FL?

Also, I heard that since i been out of a Truck for so long I would have to attend a 160hr Refresher Course, is that True?? Is there any places in Central FL that offer this??

Another Question.. i would just like to know for fact wise is, " what percent of CDL drivers say they needed a Degree to start an O/O business?" Any Links, or reports would be fine!!

    Thanks Everyone. Peace

You got a Careless Driving ticket in a Big Truck?
First time I have heard of that... makes me wonder what you were doing, but none of my business. Anyway, suppose to take 3 years for tickets to clear up, or at least that is the last I remember hearing...

You can get a careless driving ticket for a blank log book at the beginning of your shift so I've been told.

If it was in a CMV it will be there for 3 years in florida but it really never just drops off.The checks these companies do they will get it but most companies here in florida only go back up to 3 years some only one and I know a few that would hire you rite now as I have turned down 9 today.
if you want to know some of them Ill give you numbers to personal friends that have companies that are willing to give anyone a chance as long as there is no drug test failed or felony convictions. I live in north florida and know about 12 companies hiring now

Is that a one point or 2 point offense?

2 in florida but you can take the class and see the judge after the class and he will remove the 2 points

It used to be that in florida you could take the class and the points would automatically come off but not now you have to show the judge you completed class and it is his discretion to remove them

    Hey,

    * Dieselgypsy1 , No I was not in a Big Rig when it happened. I was driving a "Dump Truck" and a City Bus pulled into the lane next to me on my "Left". My Trucks left side mirror hit and broke the City Bus "Right" side mirror... The police came and gave me the ticket, saying I was at fault. No injury's, no damage to my truck only to the bus mirror which they said was $500.

    * And im sure they could have gotten another mirror from an old Bus sitting in there yard.

*Fallinangel - Thanks alot I would sure like to give those companies a try, and see what I can do. Send me a PM or I will PM you.
