I've had a ton of trouble landing a job at all since I graduated in May. Drug possession felony charge back in 2004 and a paraphernalia charge in 08 has been haunting me a lot more than I bad thought it would. I have tried so many of these companies. I had a good idea that I wouldn't get anything local and most likely not regional, so I was set to go over the road...didn't know that was gonna be as hard to land either....finally got a bite with TransAm. I leave for orientation this monday....anybody have any pointers or anything I could expect to face when i get there??
It depends on where you are. If you have tanker endorsements, you might get on hauling water. Rock hauling jobs tend to hire with that type of past. I wouldn't get my hopes up with Trans Am until I get the keys in my hand. These trucking companies get you there and then decide they don't need you. The recruiters get paid to get you in the door. Not trying to bust your bubble or anything. Keep trying. They need drivers out there. Good Luck
I am in VA...I don't have any endorsements yet...I tried with a rock hauling company thats around here but they wouldn't touch me without any experience...thats been the toughest part so far...just tryin to get my feet wet somewhere so I can get some experience
If you get on with TransAm stay there. With your past you are going to have issues until you get some experience and distance on your Felonies. Good luck.
Im glad you found a company willing to give you a chance. It may not be the best company but what company is and it's a start.Or it could be a great company,it's mainly all what you make of it.Don't complain.Think back to the days when you was looking for work. You'll do fine if you just do your job.In traininr plz listen to your trainer an make this trainer the only one.
Thanks for all the help people...Coca is an initial thing with my name...something that stuck around a while back
I've read a lot on the lease program...not really interested in it...I am aware they are gonna push it pretty hard though
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...oop/14142-transam-trucking-inc-olathe-ks.html some of the transam drivers hang out here just resist the lease and you will be fine not a bad company to get experience
