Road Test in What State ?

    If I'm from Ny and go to a trucking companies training school in Penn, what state do I get a permit and road test in, NY or Penn ?

    You will road test in the state that your permit is from. The school probably had you get a permit in their state (PA) right?

    I'm a total newbie ! Looking at Duie Pyle Co. Their training school is in PA. Thanks for the reply!

    i went to school in RI. permit and road test in mass, my home state.

    They could have you permit and test in either state. NY would be cheaper for you though. Since to transfer you will have to pay for all the tests just like you took them again.
    NY test is easier also. Since most testing facility's do not do allot of backing testing. Most are just straight and blind side parallel.

    It depends on the school. Some will allow you to test in your home state and some will not.
    You have to have access to equipment to test. So if the school does not have equipment available for him to test in his home state then he will have to test in the school state.
    Which means he will have to pay for his licence twice.

    I know that in NY if you fail any part of the road test, you have to take the entire test again. Does anyone know if the same is true in PA ?
