rv brake controler

    Hi all im trying to add an electric brake controler to my 2002 kenworth T300 is there an easy way of doing this or do I build a complete new harness

    They sell specific kits and universal kits. You'll probably need a universal kit for the added wire length.

    You might want to do a 6-way plug setup like they use on horse trailers. That way your brakes and lights would be in one connection.

    Easy? No! :)

    Just make sure if you build your own harness you protect the wires from the elements with split flex conduit or similar. But they sell shielded 4 wire rolls for just such installations. Use dielectric grease on your connector to keep moisture out. I would make a new chassis ground back near the connector instead of running the ground from the front.

    4 wires, really simple.
    Grd. Wire.
    Hot wire from battery or switch.
    Output wire to trl. plug.
    Input wire from brake light circuit. For this one find your brake wire on the trl wiring & tie into it.
