    if i mount my car kit antenna on that metal strip sun visor will It stay there and will I get much reception with it pointed forward as opposed to facing up in the air?

    well if thats a STEEL strip then yes it will stick and stay, if not it wont stick at all. The angle or direction will not affect your signal, its kinda like wifi doesnt matter how or where it is it just works.

    I cable tied mine to the mirror mount until I bought a Wilson. It's not like an omnidirectional antenna like a Wilson. I would face it up if I could or you might find yourself losing signal with your back to the satellite.

    I have a Volvo also and threw mine inside the sunroof wedged between the headliner and window for a quick mount to get on the road with the intent of a permanent mount later...that was a year ago, been working perfectly there!

    If that part is actually steel, yeah, you will be good to go
