There are several reports about failures with SCR mufflers.

But have someone an ideia about how many miles/km you need to clog a SCR muffler with bad DEF?

How you can see if a muffler is clogged?
It seems you need cut it.

In general, the mufflers from CUMMIS are getting a good service life?

    Thanks

    Edio.

really there are two ways to make DEF.

To use distiled water and to use demineralized water. Demeniralized water makes deposits. So you have to remove SCR converter and clean it mechnically ore replace.

It is not all. SCR converter may be combined with DPF and with DOC (Diesel oxydant catalist). So to clean all this stuff we use solvents.

SCR w/o DPF is Euro-5 Stage 1 (2006), but now we have to use more complicated exaust aftertreatment.

    Thank you Pablo.

Have you heard about a SCR cleaner (a kind of liquid) that is used during the regeneration?

It claims that the deposits will be burned with help of this aditive.

Any experience with them,it will not damage the "ceramic"?
