Seeing if Estes is a good fit for me in ft.wayne

Random questions. Any answers would be very helpful and appreciated.
I have 3 1/2 years experience. Seeking local and preferably day shift.

What would be starting pay most likely?
No touch freight or does that depend?
Elogs?
Automatic trucks?
Do you have to share a truck with anybody?
Does ft. Wayne terminal have their own maintenance shop?
Home daily?
Weekends off?
How many hours roughly would I work as a day shift driver?
Chances of messing with a cat scale or do they typically haul light Freight?
Do they monitor their drivers as in cameras in the truck or does that depend which terminal you're from?
Forced dispatch?

Any other random tips would be great. Thank you!

Wait, you want to run ltl day shift, which is usually p and d and you want no touch freight?

 

Ahhh... i didn't CATCH that part~!!

 

Buddy works at Estes, linehaul extra board. He has his own truck, governed at 67 mph, he's at $.62 cpm right now, started I think at $.54. No driver cams, they do run elogs but he says it's never been an issue for him because he just bounces terminal to terminal and goes to the hotel when his day is over. He's on a Wed-Sun schedule so his 2 days off are Mon and Tues, it varies but those are his. Hours vary too, sometimes he runs day shifts and sometimes he runs overnight, it depends on how many guys are sitting waiting for a load and they go by order. He does not touch freight. There's some of what you're wanting to know

 

Thank you for the reply although that sounds more OTR because I've heard they pay hourly if your local/city which is what I'm looking for and to be home every day. Which terminal is he out of because I was thinking they share trucks if your city or maybe it depends on which terminal you're based out of?

 

I have friends at Estes, but not Ft.Wayne. If you run the city home every day you will handle freight every day all day.
One of my friends is linehaul, no-touch freight, home every day and makes $70K+ every year.
Line haul is the way to go if they have any openings.

 

Thanks for the reply. Do they work 3rd? I've heard if your working the day time shift than you are more likely to have some touch freight. Maybe every terminal is different.. Idk

 

Line haul is drop & hook.
P&D is pickup and delivery and you handle the freight.
One of my friends has a regular run every night to Indianapolis; does a drop & hook then back home.
