Does anybody have any current information on Sharp Transit pulling loads for aldi in Springfield Ohio? I have done a search and not really much here on them, and most of what there is is old. If anybody has any recent or current information on them it would be appreciated.
I can ask one of our drivers..he just came from there a couple months ago...I know he said alot of lumping at the stores...
Thanks, look forward to finding out what he says. I do not mind the work if I am being paid for it, just not a big fan of working for free.
So many changes within this company on a daily basis. The terminal manager makes up the rules as he goes along and the drivers/employee handbook is missing a whole section that they base their disciplinary actions on. If you have an accident, they force you to sign what they call a promissory note with no figures on it and they take it out of your check $100 per week. If your truck is parked with less than half a tank of fuel, they charge you for it but the driver that has to fuel it makes nothing. If you leave clean out from the store in the trailer, they charge you for another driver unloading but they don't pay the other driver. Ben Sharp himself is a good man but the authority that he gives his dispatchers and terminal managers needs to be monitored closer.
I worked for Sharp in Jefferson Ga for about a year. Started as a local driver and moved to running regional I stayed a week at that Ohio warehouse I think the terminal manger name is ken he is a f@#$ing joke I remember asking him I needed extra pay for lumping extra clean out from the stores which wasn't my job but I was feeling nice so I was denied when I asked. The two women dispatcher were just as bad as the manger no clue what was going on. I find it hard to believe you can get away with running your businesses without catching up to them.
